Welcome to the first weekly blog for Stanton Tourism and Convention Commission! I'm Chelsea, the Executive Director! I'll try to keep you in the loop of all the good things that have went on, and great things to look out for in the future.
I would like to start this by asking for your help! If you are a business, individual, or group who is hosting a big sale, cool giveaway, weekly special, or a special event, PLEASE let us know so we can highlight what you're doing! Our hopes are to curate a weekly blog, maintain an up to date community calendar, and promote some of the best things Stanton has to offer on our social media pages! Please email me at [email protected] to keep us in the know! With that being said, let me tell you what a GREAT week this has been for Stanton! SOAR The week actually started out in Ashland, Kentucky where Stanton was represented in the Mini SOAR Summit. We were able to take part in networking with some top-notch folks here in Appalachia. SOAR hosted several different training opportunities. We are excited to bring what we learned back to Stanton to help make Exit 22 YOUR favorite stop! (SOAR does a LOT of great things in the Appalachian Region, and could be a GREAT asset to you! Learn more about them here or follow them on Facebook.) Gladie Visitor Center If you've driven through the Red River Gorge in the last couple years, I'm sure you've noticed a key piece of the puzzle has been missing. Gladie Visitor Center hasn't been open since COVID 19 hit, but that is soon a problem of the past! We are thrilled to inform you that on April 2, you can check out all the great new things at Gladie Visitor Center at their Grand Reopening! Make sure you follow them on Facebook and let them know we sent you! Mr. Ed's Hotdogs Mr. Ed's Hotdogs (209 North Main Street) Launched a new item on their menu this week! On Thursday (3/10) Pork BBQ sandwiches made their grand debut. Mr. Ed's Hotdogs is open Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm. Mr. Ed's always serves up delicious meals and we sure can't wait to try this one! Make sure you follow them on Facebook and let them know we sent you! Dairy Queen Grill & Chill CALLING ALL FRUITY PEBBLE FANS! Stanton DQ launched a NEW ice cream on Friday (3/11), and THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! The Fruity Blast Dipped Cone hit the menu today and I'll just tell ya, I was NOT ready for it to be that delicious! Vanilla ice cream dipped in the sweetest shade of purple, with an even SWEETER flavor. My inner child was jumping for joy around the breakfast table of my mind when I took the first bite. YOU HAVE to try this! Follow them on Facebook and let them know we sent you! Crabtree's Candies This Stanton staple has been serving our community for over 40 years now. While they've been serving customers their favorite fudges for quite some time, they recently added coffee to their menu! You can catch them Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays brewing Baxter's coffee (from Somerset, KY) and serving it over ice or piping hot! Make sure you follow them on Facebook and let them know we sent you! We can't wait to see what next week brings us here at Exit 22! Make sure you keep up with our calendar to stay up-to-date and in-the-know while you #ExploreStanton! |
