I am beyond excited to start this blog to keep everyone in the know about all things Stanton and exit 22, but I wanted to take this first post to introduce myself.
My name is Natalie Faulkner and I have held the position as Tourism Director since August of 2020. I am originally from Floyd County Kentucky, born into a family full of teachers.  I moved to Lexington shortly after graduating high school where I resided until marrying a hometown local, Jeremy Faulkner.

I have two bachelor’s degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, and began my professional career in 2010 as a Kindergarten Teacher. I continued to teach Kindergarten until 2015, when our oldest son was one year old. I then entered the world of Insurance Sales and balanced a flexible schedule while staying home with my little one.

I was first introduced to Stanton several years ago when my sister, Kelli Cremeans, began practicing as a Nurse Practitioner at Red River Healthcare. It was through that connection that I came to know many people within the community, and ultimately how I met my husband.

Jeremy and I have two sons, Noah (6) and Parker (4). We moved our family from Lexington to Winston Salem, North Carolina in 2018 for a project that Jeremy’s company was working on. It was there that I was diagnosed and treated for stage 2 breast cancer. The community of Stanton rallied behind me in a big way with prayers and fundraisers, and I vowed to give back to those that gave so much to me.

Jeremy’s company was based out of Louisville, Ky so shortly after completing treatment we moved back to Kentucky to the Shelbyville area. I began work as an Outreach and Enrollment Specialist through KIPDA and serviced several local counties.  Jeremy was then offered a job with Codell Construction, and that was our ticket home.

We knew early on in our marriage that we wanted to settle and build our family in his hometown of Stanton. We made the move to Powell County in November of 2019 and are happy to put down our roots. I continued my work as an Outreach and Enrollment Specialist through Sterling Healthcare and serviced communities in and around Montgomery County, but I knew I wanted to serve the community in which I was living and that my children were being raised. I was both elated and honored when I accepted the position as Tourism Director.

We are thankful to be settled and involved in this wonderful community. Jeremy coaches Little League baseball, our kids attend Stanton Elementary, and I am developing relationships with those across our city. My vision for Stanton Tourism is to offer positive experiences for our youth, our visitors, and our residents. I want us to be a unified community that works hard for the common betterment of our town.
